Video Training Makes Onboarding Quick and Easy

Thursday, August 6, 2015

One common complaint from people in charge of onboarding new employees is that they get tired of repeating the same information. It’s not the best use of time, and the practice is rarely engaging for the trainer or trainee. Worse, the practice isn’t scalable. Instead of always going down the same path, many companies use video training tools to streamline the onboarding process. There are several reasons for this. First, it’s employee-centric. Video training modules are available for employees to watch when and where they want. That makes it convenient for the trainer and trainee alike, and aids in information retention. Second, video training ensures consistent messaging. When a company trains by video, it can be sure every employee receives exactly the same message. Third, it becomes easier than ever for companies to produce high-quality, professional materials at a fraction of what it used to cost. Fourth, a video-centric training process is easy for employers to update as the marketplace evolves. Overall, with the introduction of video training, onboarding becomes more efficient and less time-consuming.
