Managers play a crucial role in an organization, serving as a link between senior leaders and employees. But to be effective, managers need skills beyond those that made them successful individual contributors. Considering the new demands placed on them and the essential role that managers play in engaging employees, providing training to new managers can give them the tools they need to make the transition and ensure continued success. New Manager Development: Building a Foundation for the Future draws on a sample of 287 organizations to investigate key questions around new manager development, provide benchmarking data, and highlight best practices. To add context to the findings and make these results more actionable, this report provides examples and insights from other organizations and professionals.
