Using Public Resources to Enhance Learning

The Workforce Investment Act was designed specifically to meet the needs of two customer groups: individual citizens who need employment and training resources, and employers who need access to skilled labor and training incentives.  With that approach in mind, this Infoline provides information on public state and government resources for:

• individuals looking for career development tools, resources, and funding
  organizations looking for incentives to supplement their employee training programs and resources that can help to hire, develop, and retain skilled workers.

You will learn about available resources as well as the process for accessing public funding for training—both for individual career development, and for organizations that want to expand their employee training programs with the help of grants or tax credits.  Also included are case studies from organizations that have successfully worked with partners in the government workforce investment system to supplement or build on their training and career development programs.
