B.J. Whetstine
ABOUT ME
B.J. Whetstine is a training and organizational development consultant at the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), an agency of the US Department of Agriculture. He has more than 16 years of experience in training and organization development, specializing in supervisory training, leadership development, meeting facilitation, and team building.

Whetstine is the program manager for the APHIS Experienced Supervisor Applied Workshop. Before joining APHIS in 2017, he served in the Peace Corps, both as a volunteer and on staff. He led the Peace Corps’ Office of Staging and Staff Development, providing more than 100 training events for 3,500-plus Peace Corps volunteers each year. He also developed and delivered training for the 200 staff of the Office of Volunteer Recruitment and Selection. Whetstine served as a Peace Corps volunteer in China from 2006 to 2008, training English teachers at Bijie University as well as leading youth engagement and HIV/AIDS awareness efforts. Prior to his Peace Corps service, Whetstine worked as a trainer for Army Reserve and National Guard units being deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and as an actor performing in touring educational theater troupes.
