Ivan Mesa

Ivan Mesa is a Curriculum Designer for the Professional Development department at Hillsborough Community College. He has served in this capacity for seven years. He has been working at HCC since 2006.




Ivan enjoys updating his professional skills, on Project Management and Professional Development, attending conferences, seminars, and online training. Ivan’s main professional development achievements as follows:


·       He received his Certified College Professional Certificate from AFC in November 2017,


·       he received his Instructional Designer certificate from St. Pete College Workforce Department in October 2017,


·       He received his Advanced E-Learning Instructional Designer certificate from ATD in February 2016.


·       he received his Project Manager certification from USF in 2008.


·       he received his Marketing Master degree from the EAFIT University in Colombia in 1999, and


·       he received his Industrial Engineering bachelor degree from the Javeriana University in Colombia in 1994.




Ivan serves on the Black Brown and College Bound summit steering committee since 2014.  He was the Co-Chair of ACD 2015 and the Chair of HCC Administrative Offices Advisory Council from 2012 to 2014.




Ivan is happily married, and with his wife Veronica, is the father of two girls. One 12 years old, who is a brilliant student in 6th grade and received in 2017 the Igniting the Future Scholar from BFSA at USF. The second is a four years old girl, that keeps running, dancing, and singing around the house with her mother.  Ivan spends his free time as a real estate investor.
