Jennifer Buchanan joined Walmart in 2015 as senior director of the international ethics and compliance training team before taking on her current role as senior director of field learning and development at Sam’s Club. Prior to Walmart, she led the Regulatory Compliance Training Program at American Express and held training and staff positions for the US Department of Defense at Ramstein Air Base Germany, US Central Command, US Special Operations Command, and US Department of Veterans Affairs.
Buchanan is a Silver Brandon Hall Award winner in 2018 for Best Advance in Compliance Training and a Bronze winner in 2020 Most Innovative Learning Program. She also is the recipient of a LearnX Gold Award in 2020 for Best Future Learning Model. Buchanan is a 20-year military spouse and serves as vice chair of the Walmart SERVES Associate Resource Group and learning pillar lead for Walmart Military Programs Governance. She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
