ABOUT ME

 

 

Srinivas Varanasi (Srini) comes with 28 years of cross functional experience in multiple domains like ITES, Education, Engineering, Infrastructure and Consumer Durables. A BE (Electronics & Communication) and a PG Diploma in Human Resource Management, he has a blend of global and local experience in Project & Change Management, Leadership & Capability Development with companies like Siemens, NIIT and Accenture. Srinivas passionately pursues a career as a Consultant & Trainer in the area of HR, specifically Capability Development, Learning and Delivery. His focus covers niche Leadership programs, Personal Effectiveness, Leadership Pipeline, Performance Management, Project Management, Sales & Negotiations, Conflict Management, Persuasive Communication, Process and Operational Excellence. He is based out of Delhi as an Indpendent Consultant and Trainer since 2009.

 

In the first 10 years of his career, with companies like DCM Group, Siemens Power and GSC Glass, Srinivas has performed varied roles in Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Sales & Channel Management, Marketing, Services and Quality Management. He now extends this expertise in the Learning & Development domain.  He attributes part of his knowledge to the extensive systems exposure to stints of over two years abroad, mainly Germany. Being part of the team that implemented SAP and ISO 9000 in Siemens India in mid-90s, he has been exposed to Quality Systems and Management from a very early period.

 

Srini defines 1996 as the inflection point when he moved into HR, Training, Learning and Knowledge Management domain. Being a Partner with the firm Cache Concepts for almost four years, he has been training leaders in a technical role in the field of CAD/CAM/CAE and Workflow management. At NIIT, he was part of Knowledge Solutions team in content development and Capability management for F&A processes and ERP systems. In this role, he delivered classroom trainings, implemented eLearning and conceptualized LMSes (Learning Management Systems). At Accenture, the Capability development role involved Knowledge Administration, content development and training delivery for the BPO and later, to the Consulting workforce. During this period, he has focused on Change Management, Leadership curriculum for BPO, procurement services, and in Health & Life Sciences.  He is on the panel of Consultants for Leadership & Capability Development for some leading Training Firms.

 

Srini is a Trainer for some key global programs, like First things first, Breakthrough Conversations, Leadership style training based on the John Beck’s model, Coaching for Engagement, Leadership Training for new supervisors, Six Thinking Hats & Lateral thinking from deBono etc. He is a certified trainer for many global programs. He is a Master Trainer for Managing Self program at Aditya Birla Group based on the seminal work by Ram Charan and Stephen Drotter in their book, “The Leadership Pipeline”. He is also a Training exponent of Stephen Covey’s book on “the 7 habits” and “First things First”. He is also a certified Trainer on the Situational Leadership Model – “Leaders Window” as well asa Master Trainer on  “Leadership Conversations”  framework  by Javier and Heavens. He is also a certified Trainer on “Coaching for Engagement” , a method for implementing any Coaching framework. He has developed his own “Four Factor Model” on Leadership and is currently working on designing an intervention on “Data Interpretation for Managers”. His involvement includes areas like TNA (Training needs Analysis) to its development, execution and its success measurements (all levels of Kirkpatrick). He has worked with many functional teams and has led many cross functional engagements in Job Description, Performance Management, Curriculum Development, Metrics Development, Learning Management System design and operationalizing an LMS and Working across various cultures. In the last five years, he has logged close to 250 interventions.

 

His customer base includes firms Like Aditya Birla Group (Hindalco, IDEA, Kesoram Cements, GRASIM), Accenture (BPO, Technology Growth Platform, Consulting) , Religare (Sales group), HCL, Trident group, Allsec, EXL Service, Indus Ind Bank, ADANI Shared Services group, WNS besides others.

 

Srinivas is a highly focused and very articulate leader and trainer.  He has rich experience in a blend of soft and hard side of project management as well as leadership development programs and believes that a Capability Development assignment should ideally be looked at as a Project, with clear and articulated value delivery.
