Training Budgets

Published: Wednesday, December 20, 2017

Greetings!  I am doing research to help me develop a training budget for my employer (credit union).  I am looking for any information you could share about the number of training hours you spend each year on your employees.  I have a great opportunity to build the training department from the ground up and since this is new for everyone, they are having a hard time getting their minds around the amount of hours that will be needed to complete all the training they want and need.  Anything thing you can provide would be helpful.  As I rearch the web, it seems that most data is so old.  Also, checking the DOL website, their data is from 1995.  UGHH!  LOL.  Thanks in advance for your help.

My company has a goal of 40 hours per person per year. Most people average in the low 20's.

ATD’s 2017 State of the Industry benchmarks annual learning hours per employee. The report is available as a member benefit at www.td.org/SOIR2017. The report includes this figure for all organizations as well as this figure for the Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate (FIRE) sector (see page 28 of the report), which you may find particularly helpful.
Thanks Maria. I will take a look.
