Learning While Working: Structuring Your On-the-Job Training

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

This session will explore the process of building a structured on-the-job training program. The goal of workplace learning is more than simply training a person for a current job; it is to create self-sufficient, lifelong learners. Through developing a structured on-the-job training program, you can empower learners to be invested in, and assume ownership of, their professional development path while also ensuring ongoing benefits for the employer. Learning a role that requires on-the-job experience need not be haphazard; it can be strategic, targeted, and intentional. Learning will take place faster without sacrificing quality, satisfaction of those involved will increase, and talented employees will be attracted and retained because of such a program.
