The skills gap in manufacturing is a major source of concern and anxiety for industrial companies. According to Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, “Over the next decade nearly 3.5 million manufacturing jobs likely need to be filled. The skills gap is expected to result in 2 million of those jobs going unfilled.” Addressing this gap will require traditional efforts in the form of education, training, and workforce development.
