Remote Work Is Poised to Become a Talent Acquisition Necessity

Tuesday, February 9, 2021

While the global health crisis has created a lot of uncertainty in the business world, one thing is clear: Remote work is here to stay. Leadership needs to get on board with this fact and adjust to the new normal. According to a recent survey, 83 percent of knowledge workers want a remote or hybrid-work model, as opposed to the 17 percent that want to return to an office full-time. This means organizations need to understand that rigidity in this regard will hurt their chances in a labor market that is about to get a whole lot bigger and a whole lot more competitive. Building in flexibility to work schedules and arrangements in the future will not be seen as a nice perk but a talent strategy imperative. “Doing this will not just safeguard existing talent but also attract new like-minded people who want to be part of a company that is on the front foot in the world of work,” Stuart Templeton, head of Slack’s UK division said. “Only by having the right tech talent who can look after a business’s most-valued asset, technology, will remote working be a success.”

Can we know what the "recent survey" was? This kind of stub article is useless without real data to back it up.
