In this tutorial, Katrina Kennedy shares how to check the accessibility of your content by utilizing PowerPoint’s built-in accessibility checker. Katrina demonstrates examples of the different inspection results PowerPoint’s automatic accessibility checker provides, and the types you may find in your own training or presentation content, including errors, warnings, tips, and intelligent services. For example, Katrina shows how an image in your slide deck that’s missing an alt text description will be flagged as an error. Depending on the purpose of the image, you’ll have the option to write a description, use an AI-generated option, or mark the image as decorative. She also advises that you can’t depend on PowerPoint’s accessibility checker alone. Warnings for color contrast can be verified by using a separate color contrast checker.
