Taking a Break From Blind Ambition

Most view ambition as a positive trait, but the term can be synonymous with perpetual busyness and a stressful life. Ambitious people and other high achievers are the most susceptible to burnout. Yale researchers found that about one in five highly engaged employees feels high levels of stress and burnout, and a similar Gallup poll found these employees feel burned out “often or always.” Here’s a piece of advice that’s not often heard: It’s OK to pull back a little.
