- Assess current strengths in performance consulting competency areas and roles (e.g., Expert, Advisor, Coach, Facilitator, etc.) and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
- Apply ATD’s Performance Consulting Framework (e.g., ethics, critical skills, consulting competency areas, process, methodology, tools, relationship management, and specializations) to enhance their ability to improve clients’ individual, team or organizational performance.

- Use the Performance DNA Methodology and tools to gain client alignment and commitment, capture goals and performance gaps, identify key performers, analyze human performance, recognize positive and negative influences on performance, and document findings.
- Use effective HPI data analysis, consolidation, and decision making methods to derive defensible workplace performance findings, reveal trends and patterns of key performance, and make recommendations.
- Use effective presentation techniques to report findings and recommendations and gain agreement from decision makers to move forward.
- Select and design the most appropriate solutions that align with recommendations, close performance gaps, have a high probability of success, and meet or exceed the client’s originally-stated needs and business goal(s).
- Lead, align with, or advise others on planning and implementing solutions that meet client requirements.
- Lead, align with, or advise others in evaluating and measuring the success and impact of solutions on original client business goals.
- Assist clients in planning for and improving the readiness of their organizations to benefit from the changes that are triggered by solution implementation.

You also must pass a 20-question assessment to demonstrate mastery of the content of this program. You may take this at any time during the program and can retake it until you achieve a passing score.
Finally, should you choose to do so, you’ll continue your personalized learning experience by completing a complimentary elective course (online or face-to-face) of your choice to help you address your own unique professional development needs. You may choose from any ATD certificate program (except for the Training Design and Delivery Certificate program) or any Essentials series. The CPLP Prep, APTD Prep, Elements, and another Master Series are not included in the complimentary option.
ATD estimates approximately three to four months to successfully complete the entire program.
Keep in mind the ATD Master Performance Consultant™ Program is a unique and robust assessment-based program. If you are interested in strengthening your ability in performance improvement but are not interested in committing to the ATD Master Performance Consultant assessment component, capstone performance consulting project, or timeframe, consider the Improving Human Performance program.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To ensure you gain the most from this advanced-level program, you must meet the following criteria to participate:
- a minimum of three years in the performance consulting profession
- demonstrated knowledge of the human performance improvement process and steps
- ability to identify standard practices of performance consultants
- completion of a foundational ATD certificate program, such as the ATD Improving Human Performance Certificate (preferred, not required).

Things to Know
PROGRAM COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
Active participation in all components of ATD Master Programs is mandatory in order to receive the designation and applicable credits. This includes participating in facilitator-led sessions and completing all online activities, assessments, and project work. Access to the course and all materials is available in the ATD Learning Platform. New content will be made available each week and should be completed before the start of the next week.
For full-day face-to-face and live online programs, participation in all originally scheduled days of the program, including both face-to-face and live online formats, is mandatory in order to receive the certificate of completion and CEUs. Participants who miss more than two hours of the entire program will not be eligible to receive the certificate. Participants who fulfill the attendance requirement will receive a certificate at the end of the program.
For multi-week, live online programs with five or more sessions, one missed live session can be made up by listening to the session recording in full. Participants who miss more than one live session will not be eligible to receive the certificate. To be marked complete for that one session, please email [email protected]. For programs with four or fewer sessions, attendance at all live sessions is required to receive a certificate. All sessions will be recorded and available for participants to review throughout the program for your reference
For online asynchronous programs, new content will be made available on the platform each week. Completion of all activities, assessments, and project work must be completed the week they are assigned.
Active participation in live online sessions includes, but is not limited to, participating in virtual classroom activities, discussions, and breakout sessions. Please note that using a tablet or mobile device significantly limits your ability to participate actively.

This program is eligible for 28.0 professional development hours or recertification points from the ATD Certification Institute (ATD CI) for the APTD or CPTD credential. New! Earning the ATD Master Instructional Designer® designation fulfills the entire professional development requirement toward the APTD or CPTD Certification. See ATD CI eligibility criteria for details.
This program has been approved for 28.0 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
A laptop computer with Wi-Fi capability is required for both face-to-face and online programs. Please do not bring mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.) in lieu of a laptop. There will be no computers available on-site for participants. Note: You might not have an optimal experience if you are using Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge to access your courses. Chrome is the recommended browser.
