ABOUT ME

As a learning solutions architect in the Learning Strategy Team at Navy Federal Credit Union, I consult, on learning solution design and strategies for performance improvement. We are using the SAFe model and ADO tools to manage change and develop solutions. Additionally, I am on the team implementing an enterprise HCM system and embedded LMS.

As Research Scientist with UWF's Innovation Institute, I worked on multi-disciplined teams to addressed large and difficult problems. Traditional higher education lacks the agility, concentration of resources, and focus necessary to produce the substantial transformation that the solutions to these problems require. Two common approaches we used include a modified version of the Design Thinking model and the Hacking for Defense (H4Di) model for accelerating solutions through large organizations.
Recent innovative projects include:

Working with the world's largest cruise ship corporation optimizing their curricula and developing training for an international population of Deck and Engineering Leadership teams.

Conceptual development and implementation of Complete Florida, a statewide program to identify and facilitate the re-entry of the 2.8 million people in Florida with some college but no degree and see them to completion in a degree or certification program in a strategically important job category.

Development of an adaptive learning competency-based pilot B.S. program in IT using existing capabilities in the current campus LMS

Implementation of the first Coder Dojo program in Pensacola to introducing coding skills to young learners in a challenging and engaging setting.

I designed, developed and implemented a 100% online B.S. in IT that was recognized as one of the Top 25 Online IT programs in the country. My goal was to prepare learners to become technology leaders who focus on the application of technology to serve the strategic goals of their organizations.

My work on special projects, grants and contracts, like NextExitHistory (UWF's first intellectual property license), Northwest Florida Career Pathways, and the National Flight Academy reflects a commitment to exploiting technology to positively influence popular culture, help people make better lives for themselves, and to improve learner performance in STEM disciplines.
