Employee Development Is a Journey, Not a Destination

Monday, February 2, 2015

Keeping employees engaged and productive requires a sustained effort, and benchmarking is one of the most important ways to keep employees on the right track. Setting and updating goals is important, but you also need to make sure that the goals are relevant and achievable, with clearly measurable results. Making room for individual growth is also an important first step in keeping employees engaged. According to a recent survey, 63 percent of employees felt that learning a new skill or receiving training was the most important factor in advancing their career. Unfortunately, only 2 percent of employees receive this type of ongoing feedback, according to a recent survey.
