Bill Sewell  has been a member of ASTD  since 1980,  when  he participated in his first  ASTD  conference , as Group Training & Development Manager of  the Edgars Stores Retail Group, in Southern Africa.

Since then, his career has spanned roles as general manager of another major  retail group, and has been a self-employed management development and organisational performance evaluation consultant, for public and private sector organisations throughout Southern Africa.

Besides active membership of  the ATD, Bill is also active in the South African Board for People Practices  (SABPP ), Association for Skills Development in South Africa  ASDSA) ,  and  the South African Monitoring and Evaluation  Association (SAMEA).
