Marykate Dougherty
ABOUT ME

Marykate Behan Dougherty is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and Project Management Professional (PMP) with over twenty-five years of experience as a consultant, program manager, and director.  As the Treasury Executive Institute’s Director, she supports TEI’s team to ensure delivery of outstanding leadership development and coaching services.  Prior to joining Treasury, she was the Program Manager for Leadership and Executive Development at NASA HQ where she provided strategic direction to have a measurable impact on the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities for Senior Leaders.  She formerly served as the director for Training and Development at Chemonics Intl., a USAID contractor, where she completed over 12 international assignments, working in Asia, Africa, and the former Soviet Union.  Her vast public, private and nonprofit sectors experience gives her a unique presence as a powerful coach.

She co-authored Coaching in Government: Stories and Tips for Coaching Professionals, with Dr. Theodora Fitzsimmons, PCC, and Alan Myers, PCC, published in 2022. She has a master’s degree in Education and Human Development from the George Washington University and received her undergraduate degree in Business from Mary Washington College. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan, is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been active in many community efforts, including being a foster parent and serving on the board for the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia.
