Tuesday, March 31, 2020

The COVID-19 outbreak has triggered massive workforce changes across the nation. Overnight, bars, restaurants, shops, and gyms have shut down, and—according to Gartner—more than 88 percent of those still employed are working from home. The pandemic has also triggered hiring freezes, raise suspensions, and benefit reallocation. The pandemic has also placed more of an emphasis on employee well-being. Whether dealing with the anxieties of an unknown future or caring for infected employees, employers are prioritizing wellness like never before. Finally, the way we conceive of and deliver training is likely to change. Businesses across multiple industries have already been investing in virtual reality, and as workers become more decentralized, that trend is likely to skyrocket.
